I GETTING READY TO PUBLISH MY NEW BOOK--VOLUME TWO------THE RECOVERY
DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE AND TAKE ME FOR ANYTHING OTHER THEN WHAT I AM,
I WAS A SOLDIER THAT FOUGHT IN VIETNAM.
TODAY IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT I WEAR A DRESS,
BACK THEN I FOUGHT WITH THE BEST,
THE FEW, THE BRAVE THE MEN OF THE CORP..
IN HEAVEN
I SIT AND LOOK OVER THE HILL,
I WOULD RIDE OVER IT, IF I HAD THE WILL.
I WAS YOUNG I COULD RIDE MY HORSE ALL DAY,
BACK THEN HAD NO ONE TO STAND IN MY WAY.
THINGS HAS CHANGED AND I HAVE SLOWED DOWN,
SOMETIMES IT’S HARD FOR ME TO GET AROUND.
I AM OLD AS THE TREES,
YET, I HAVE NEVER HAD THE LIFE I PLEASED.
AS I GROW OLDER AND TIME PASSED ME BY,
I HAD NEVER STOPPED TO WONDER WHY.
ONLY IN MY HEAD IS MY MEMORY,
SURE GLAD HE WAS STANDING THERE FOR ME.
I WAS A SOLDIER WHO DIED IN WAR,
AT 18, I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS FIGHTING FOR.
I WAS ONLY DOING MY JOB,
WHY, OH WHY, DID I HAVE TO DIE?
