THOUGHT I HAVE WALKED IN THE SHALLOW OF DEATH
I
KNOW FOR SURE I AM NOT DONE YET.
I HAVE DONE MY TIME
I now sit in my rocking chair,
It is now known that I have done my share.
See, it is now for you to judge me,
I know I was the best that I could be.
I am much too old to take another stroll,
It is time for me to relax, I am being told.
But as you can see?
I am not finish becoming me.
I was first to fight,
Did not matter if it was day or night!
I did what I had to do.
Too prove I was just like you.
Now I’ll stand for you to see,
Just how will, you judge me?
But in the end it will come to be,
I have always just been me.
I was a Soldier that had a job to do,
It was me doing what I had to do.
Maybe somehow I can set you free,
I’m now trying to forgive you, for disrespecting me.
