TOO MANY TEARS,
TOO MANY YEARS.
AS A SOLDIER
I was only a soldier that done the duty,
Now I am only asking for what’s due to me.
I spend a year in a War,
Now I spend a life asking myself what was I fighting for?
As a Soldier I killed in your name,
Now I’m feeling all the shame.
We had to do our best,
But when we got home we got no respect.
I am not asking you to wear my shoes,
I just telling you I’ve paid my dues.
As a Soldier we fought in wars,
Yet we still don’t know what we were fighting for.
To be a soldier was a hard thing to do,
There was a lot of hell we were put through.
What we had to endure,
You’ll never know I am sure.
