Intellectual property rights and pull marketing is on my mind this morning. It comes from learning how to create a site that's interesting, useful, and profitable. Reading the terms of use, I can see that I'm not quite doing it right. I'm leaning to much on using advertising to create the content, instead of advertising on my creative content.
We're learning as we go. I see now that we have plenty of stuff to sell, but who's buying?
I'm what you might call a want-to-be musician. I've played guitar all my life, and still love playing for hours on end. But I play mostly cover tunes... that's how I learnt to play. We created a CD "The Great Warrior," but it looks to be a flop. We thought the story of what happened to the Indians that lived where we do some 250 years ago was a tragedy. That lack of humanity, the taking of the land and resources, is not me... I was born into this after the Indians and the slaves. It's not a history that I benefited from, or proud of.
Southern Rock is what I spent much of my time learning, the guitar, the lyrics... the dream of being loved and wanted.
So here we are at the crossroads of life. It seems that the real trick to internet marketing is in having useful content. When I have an interest in something and want to know more about it, I'll search it online and look for related stuff. And the search engines make this easy.
Since I don't seem to be able to sell my stuff (maybe from lack of quality), the question is can I sell other peoples stuff. Can I sell the best entertainers in the world? I see it as a chance to learn to promote.
But as I look all the bands already have publicist that fill all their seats and sell all their music... so what's the point in putting my viewpoint here, so many know so much more about everything than I do.
I just don't really see where I can sell anything here.
So I was going to tell you about the Allman Brothers Band upcoming tour dates. Sources that know more than I say that they have been touring every year since their 20th Anniversary Reunion Tour in '89. But why would I care?
I seen them live once, years ago up the road a little ways. The closest they come to me this year will be in Alpharetta, GA on September the 2nd this year (2013). The Mitch Schneider Organisation seems to be in charge of publicity, and I'm sure they will do well. They have a couple of tour posters you can down load for personal use... but I didn't see anything I could use to put here in my blog. That tells me that they don't need or want my help. No Outsiders!
So what is my interest in events going on in the south? Why should I care about this or any other band in the world? I doubt that I'm going. Most likely couldn't afford to go and would be outcast when I got there if I did. I guess it's the years in the woodshed wanting to get out and see the world playing music. It's got to be good... I mean if you've got to do something, there's a lot worse things to do.
One thing we can remember here is that the Allman Brothers Band are talented. They wrote many songs that we grew up listening to, and still hear today. That kind of longevity has to be admired.
Getting ticket info through their site, takes you to the venue, which don't seem to sell tickets, to Ticketmaster, which seems to reload the same page. I was just doing my own price comparison, but found there might be a reason to sell tickets here... you can get to them and buy them. I clicked on the September 2nd date 3 times, and still never got to where I could price the tickets... it's saying no event found in Jacksonville. I don't know, I would give up after 3 tries, how many times would you go to the next page and stroll down and click on the link? Okay I see that ticket go on sale on the 10th of June. But I can get them now: Allman Brothers Band Concert Tickets.

I did notice a top 10 mp3 list selling tunes from itunes. I can't link to itunes right off... but, have you heard about the free mp3 put in the cloud when you buy the CD? It's something about if you buy the music then you own it to listen to on all your music players. Here's the deal:
And here is the Allman Brothers Band Music we have in our store.
